    Short-term shutdown of the Asknet Software Shop https://gwdg.asknet.de

    Unfortunately, the GWDG was informed at short notice that the Asknet Software Shop (https://gwdg.asknet.de) will cease operations on June 30, 2026.

    Please ensure that you have downloaded and saved all necessary files for software you have already purchased by this date, as they will likely no longer be available afterward.

    After June 30, 2026, inquiries and orders with Asknet can only be processed directly via the email address vertrieb@asknet.com.

    EVITA – Call for training modules

    The GWDG is participating as a consortium partner in the EuroHPC Virtual Training Academy (EVITA) project, which has just reached a major milestone. EVITA has officially launched two public calls as part of its cascade funding scheme: a call for modular training materials and a call for external reviewers. As of 16 June 2026, the European HPC community is invited to apply.

    Training providers, research centres, universities, and HPC experts established in EU Member States or EuroHPC associated countries are invited to contribute to develop modular training courses for the EVITA Training

    New version of the remote support software “AnyDesk”

    AnyDesk is a widely requested and popular software solution used by IT staff to provide user support. It enables remote access to workstations to assist with IT issues and has already been in use at the Göttingen Campus for many years. In the coming days, the transition to the latest version of AnyDesk will take place; this version is compatible with modern operating systems and meets current security standards.
